Jota Aviation, a UK registered specialist cargo airline has partnered with Priority Freight, leading Global time critical distribution experts in a strategic partnership to provide an airbridge from Europe to the UK and return twice daily from early January.

The two companies are working together to support Automotive supply chains to maintain their integrity throughout the Brexit transition and subsequently predicted congestion at UK and EU ports in the coming months, by providing an airbridge.  The service which will utilise a BAe146 and fly between Ostend and Birmingham is available immediately to their customers, who can prebook their own pallet spaces. Any capacity still available will be available to spot book daily. The schedule is designed to feed into the overnight parcel delivery systems in the UK on the first rotation, and the automotive for the second rotation. The ability to feed into these overnight distributors will then facilitate next day deliveries.

Andy Green, Chief Executive Officer commented, “It has become inevitable that there will be disruption and delay at the major ports once the transition period ends. The travel uncertainty caused by the latest developments with COVID restrictions has exacerbated an already fragile situation. The ability to repurpose all of our cargo aircraft into the quick turnaround pallet configuration allows us to offer a quick solution for transit across the channel to our clients and enables us to carry multiple customer shipments making it more cost effective than the commitment of a full charter. We have worked tirelessly with our Partners at Priority Freight and handling agents Blue City Aviation in Birmingham and Zeus Aero at Ostend in preparation to ensure a reliable and reassuring service.”
