As a licensed aircraft engineer working on 4 on 4 off shift pattern you will lead the shift at the SEN line station and be responsible for monitoring and certifying the maintenance work carried out in accordance with the Company’s procedures. You will also carry out routine maintenance and airworthiness checks as requested.

MAINTENANCE PLANNER

Jota Aviation is looking for an experienced Maintenance/Airworthiness Planner as part of its ongoing expansion working at their Offices based at London Southend Airport.

Working directly within the Operator’s airworthiness department, as a Maintenance Planner you will be responsible for ensuring rectification of defects and out of phase maintenance is carried out on the Airline’s passenger and freighter fleets in accordance with the company’s procedures and in line with the busy flying programme. The role will involve working a 12 hour 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

Your Key responsibilities

  • Direct point of contact for the company’s Aircrew on all Maintenance/Airworthiness related issues
  • Control and planning of any “Out of Phase” maintenance tasks
  • Defect rectification planning for AOG and Non AOG situations – Monitoring and controlling of any deferred defects.
  • Ensuring all technical documentation is received and completed from the contracted Part 145
  • Liaise directly with the company’s line engineers and the Part 145 MRO to schedule all the required works and activities.
  • Liaison with Operations Team regarding all maintenance activities so that these can scheduled into the flying programme

Experience/Skills Required

  • Previous experience with aircraft maintenance planning is essential
  • Ideally having had either a recognised apprenticeship, an Aeronautical degree or attended a formal training scheme
  • CAMO experience
  • Experience of working in a Maintenance Control environment desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Part M and Part 145 regulations
  • Good working knowledge of technical documentation and aircraft records
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and writtenAbility to work and thrive under pressure

Crewing and Travel Officer

With the on-going growth of the company’s operations, we are looking to recruit a Crewing and Travel Officer reporting into the Operations Manager based at our offices at London Southend Airport.  This is a new position that has been created to support the busy operations team.  The role will initially entail working full-time, Monday to Friday with the potential to move to a 4 on, 4 off 12 hour shift pattern within the next 12 months.

The person responsible will be responsible for the following:-

    • The maintaining the crew schedule for all pilots and cabin crew ensuring that all flights are crewed in accordance with the company regulations and flight duty limitations.
    • Preparation and distribution of monthly crew rosters in accordance with company and FTL regulations.
    • Ensuring that the rostering of ground, aircraft and simulator training and checks are scheduled in accordance with the management training plans, liaising with Head of Training, Chief Pilot and the Ground Operations Manager.
    • Reacting to crew issues as and when they arise and resolving scheduling issues in accordance with the company’s flight duty limitations and communicating crew roster information to flight crews.
    • Ensuring the most cost effective ways of optimising crew usage.
    • Assigning scheduled, unscheduled and standby crew duties in accordance with the company flight duties limitations, regulatory and commercial requirements.
    • Managing crew leave requests and allocations in conjunction with aircrew management to ensure an efficient flying programme.
    • To provide a monthly pilot duty report to the Operations Manager
    • To forecast crew requirements based on additional flying or changes to the long term flight schedule
    • To organise and arrange safe travel for all aircrew and engineering staff in accordance with the flight schedule and in accordance with FTL regulations.
    • To source, quote and book cost effective travel services within the UK and Europe maintaining accurate records

Ideally, candidates should have previous experience in the aviation industry and have a good working knowledge of EASA training and licencing requirements, aircrew visa requirements/applications together with EASA ORO flight time limitations regulations.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent planning and organisation skills and be able to work well under pressure, remaining calm and focused.  You should enjoy working as part of team and have strong interpersonal skills, understanding the needs of others and be able communicate well at all levels.

Flight Operations Controller position

 
To meet the continuing needs of the business, Jota Aviation is looking to appoint a trainee Flight Operations Controller based at its offices at Southend Airport. This is an ideal position for someone who is interested in making a career in aviation and would like the opportunity to receive comprehensive training in order to become a Flight Operations Controller for a busy and expanding airline.

Operations Controller

To flight watch all of the company’s aircraft to ensure efficient and on time departures by filing accurate flight plans, checking on weather, arranging handling and managing ATC and runway slots to ensure the smooth running of the flying programme. The role will entail working a 4 on 4 off alternate 12 hour day and night shifts.

The key duties and responsibilities will include

  • Preparing and filing accurate flight plans
  • Acquiring and managing slots, arranging ground handling and overflight permits where required
  • To monitor the weather conditions and preparing pilot notices where necessary to alert aircrew of any potential hazards on route
  • To monitor and action as necessary any crewing, engineering or despatch issues that could effect on time departure
  • To liaise as necessary with all relevant departments, customer and/or 3rd party providers for the smooth and cost effective running of the flying programme
  • Full training in all aspects of the position will be provided. As part of the training, the company will also sponsor the successful applicant in completing the UKOMA course . Suitable candidates should have a keen interest in aviation with excellent communication abilities.
